libcbtsysinfo_0
While testing Debian Live I suddenly discovered that something had installed a library in my home directory: ~/cbt/lib/libcbtsysinfo_0.so.
Google gives two hints: Some discussion on the danish usenet group dk.edb.mac and some discussion on debian-user.
It looks like it get installed when I log into my internet bank. By lookin at the symbols extracted by objdump (a couple of symbols stating with Java_com_ibm_cbt_slight_CbtSysInfo) it seems to be IBM’s Crypto-base Transaction system.
Evil to install such thing without asking. (Well, it’s a Linux/x86 library even though I’m using Linux/PPC)

It’s from (In my case anyway), BEC’s internetbank solution. I gave their support a call a couple of weeks ago and they admitted that is wasn’t the most clever bit of code they had written. They said they might change this bit in the future. But give them a call, the more people who make a fuss, the more likely the are to do something about it.

I get it when I log in to my netbank with Amagerbanken. It appears in the home directory on my Mac. I was concerned, and I’ve e-mailed the bank. Your post has removed some of the worry, though. Thanks!

I have the same “problem” - I am not the irritated that some files are stored but why not make the folder invisible. I have no interactive use for the files and should not see them. I will call BEC and complain - hopefully that will change something in a while. :D

The same folder appears on Mac OS X … just sent a complaint to BEC by e-mail.
